WMUR: Kevin Kelly Hired to Be New England College Football Coach When Sport Returns in 2024
Mike Cronin, WMUR, August 8, 2023
Football is coming back to New England College in the fall of 2024 after a 50-year hiatus.
It’s a big undertaking to build a team from the ground up, but this coach is no stranger to football. The man who will lead the Pilgrims is Kevin Kelly.
He has more than four decades of coaching experience, but it will be the first for staffing, building and recruiting an entire team.
“This is the first and I know it’s going to be challenging and rewarding but I’m ready to go to work,” Kelly said. “It’s going to be neat to build a legacy.”
That work starts now, about a year before New England College players will even hit the practice field for the first time.
“The opportunity in our program is going to be different than a lot of Division III programs in New England in that when you come in initially, you’re going to have a great opportunity to play,” Kelly said.
Kelly has coached on every level of college football, plus the XFL.
