Get in the Game: NMDP Cell Therapy Registry Event
New England College Athletics is taking on a new opponent: blood cancers and disorders. NEC’s student-athletes are collaborating with NMDP (formerly the National Marrow Donor Program® and Be The Match) to hold a cell therapy registry event and will serve as event ambassadors.
Everyone is invited to learn about NMDP and their work to save the lives of those with blood cancers, like leukemia and lymphoma, and blood disorders and to join NMDP’s registry of donors.
Date: Thursday, October 17
Time: 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Location: Simon Tent
Did you know that someone in the United States is diagnosed with a blood cancer every three–four minutes? Did you know that more than 75 diseases can be treated with or cured by a blood stem cell transplant? Did you know that 70% of blood cancer patients do not have matched donors in their families?
How can you help? Register to be a match for someone in need of cell therapy. Register, swab, match, donate. It’s that easy.
NMDP is a leader in cell therapy. Since 1987, NMDP has made an impact on more than 130,000 lives through cell therapy. Learn more about NMDP and its lifesaving work.
