Henniker, N.H. (June 17, 2021)— New England College (NEC) is pleased to announce a partnership with SUNY Adirondack, which allows qualified SUNY community college graduates to seamlessly transfer all courses with a C or above into one of NEC’s bachelor’s degree programs.

On Thursday, June 10, 2021, Dr. Michele Perkins, President of New England College, and Dr. Kristine D. Duffy, President of SUNY Adirondack, joined college leadership for a recorded virtual signing event. Their remarks reflected a shared commitment to student success, diversity, equity, and inclusion, professional skills development, such as leadership, team building, verbal and written communication, critical thinking and problem solving, and service through civic engagement and volunteerism.

“New England College is a natural fit for SUNY Adirondack graduates, and we are happy to welcome them to our family,” said Dr. Michele Perkins. “Our broad range of academic programs contribute to regional workforce development and our institutions are economic drivers in our respective states. Our robust NCAA Division III athletic teams, a full range of clubs and organizations designed to empower students to be all that they can be, and our student support services in all aspects of a holistic education demonstrate our shared commitment to student success.”

An associate degree at SUNY Adirondack requires 60 credits. Students who earn an Associate of Arts (AA) or an Associate of Science (AS) degree at SUNY ADK will have completed the Liberal Arts & Sciences general education curriculum required by NEC.

“We are excited to offer SUNY Adirondack graduates another opportunity to further their studies and build upon the incredible foundation they establish with us,” said Dr. Kristine D. Duffy.

NEC requires students to complete 42 of 120 credits required for a bachelor’s degree in the liberal arts, which can be completed at SUNY Adirondack. Students will not be limited to the area of study in which they earned an associate degree. This transfer agreement ensures that SUNY Adirondack graduates will be able to transfer into any major at NEC with minimal or no loss of credit.

NEC recently entered into similar transfer agreements with Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania, Washington County Community College in Maine, and Butte College in California.

NEC offers 43 online and on-campus bachelor’s degree programs. With two campuses in southern New Hampshire, the private NEC provides exceptional education for more than 5,000 online and on-campus undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from around the world.
