Plants grow in nature with no control except that of the earth. As humans, we choose what plants should grow and where. I clearly remember every spring as a child on my hands and knees pulling weeds and planting flowers with my mother. Come summertime, when the bulbs slowly opened and eventually fully blossomed, my face was in the center of each one. It is not only the aroma but the delicate nature within them that has kept me entranced ever since.
This project is my way of gardening. I have replaced my gloves and a shovel for my camera and computer. Planting digital seeds, I watch as my own creations grow. Paying attention to shape, color, and texture I then arrange them just as a florist or home gardener would. The results are these one-of-a-kind, everlasting floral arrangements. All reflective of memories growing up. Each one being a world of its own that has you hypnotized like I was as a child.
