Commencement Update from President Lesperance

Dear NEC Community,

I am very pleased to announce the Commencement speaker for this year’s graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 6, 2023. To borrow from a familiar song, “You haven’t met him yet. You haven’t had the chance.” The lyrics from the smash-hit Hamilton on Broadway are apropos of our speaker, Mr. Ron Chernow.

Ron Chernow is an award-winning author whose most well-known book, Alexander Hamilton, served as the inspiration for the Broadway musical by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

In speaking with Mr. Chernow, he expressed excitement at sharing stories of his collaboration with Lin-Manuel and even hinted at a possible performance!

May will be here before you know it. And on that Commencement Day, we will celebrate our graduates and our community as we wrap up another academic year.

Make the most of the rest of your term. It will go by all too quickly. And as always, please do not hesitate to stop by if I can be of service.
