The Institute of Art and Design at New England College Hosts Exhibition “The Spells That Bind Us”
The Institute of Art and Design at New England College will host The Spells That Bind Us, an exhibition featuring the works of three students completing their Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts, Saturday July 15.
The Spells That Bind Us brings together the works of Hannah Cole Dahar from Manchester, New Hampshire; McKenzi Felt Dye from St. George, Utah; and Anna Schölch from Allen, Texas. The exhibition features painting, wearable sculpture, photography, and pastel works that explore themes of mythology, reclamation, and long-distance friendships.
“I am so impressed with the critical and artistic growth of Hannah, McKenzi, and Anna,” stated Inez McDermott, Professor Emerita of Art History at NEC, who has worked with the three artists since they began their graduate studies. “Not only has each of their practices evolved to an impressive professional level, but they have learned from and shared with each other in ways that have informed and improved their work in their final thesis exhibition.”
The opening reception for The Spells That Bind Us will be held Saturday, July 15, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. in the Roger Williams Gallery, 66 Amherst Street, in Manchester. For more information, please contact Devon Mozdierz at dmozdierz@nec.edu.
