Track & Field Returns to New England College in 2026–2027
Henniker, N.H. – New England College (NEC) Athletics is thrilled to announce the return of Track & Field to its varsity athletic programs, with competition set to begin in the 2026–2027 academic year.
The Pilgrims will field both Men’s and Women’s indoor and outdoor teams for the winter and spring, respectively. This will provide year-round training and development opportunities for students focused on endurance, sprinting, and field sports.
“Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our athletic history as we bring Track & Field back to NEC,” NEC Director of Athletics Dave DeCew said in a statement. “Bringing Track & Field back to our campus reflects our commitment to growth, excellence, and student success. We are proud to launch this program, and we can’t wait to see the incredible heights our student-athletes will reach as they chase success in this new realm.”
A nationwide search for the program’s head coach will begin this winter.
The Pilgrims will continue to sponsor their cross-country program and plan to offer some competitive opportunities for Track & Field during the 2025–2026 year.
NEC previously fielded a Track & Field program from 2010 to 2016.
